This striking monument stands in Kelvingrove Park. Its brutal realism, showing soldiers going `over the top`, commemorates the men who died in two world wars and the battles in which they were involved are recorded on the back of the monument. The Cameronians Regiment, eventually disbanded in 1959, was named after the Covenanter supporters of Richard Cameron and were recruited from the Lanarkshire area.

This is one of many war memorials in Glasgow and is probably the most stark in its depiction of the horrors of war.
